Wiidooktaadwin Indigenous Mentorship Initiatives

Aaniin, Wachiya, Tansi, Welcome!

Wiidooktaadwin Indigenous Mentorship Initiatives connects university students with local Indigenous youth and community. Through the Wiidooktaadwin Indigenous Mentorship program, students also have the opportunity to particiapte in Aasgaabitaadwin Indigenous Youth Leadership Conferences. Our programs provide access to cultural resources, leadership skills, and help promote pathways to post-secondary. Simply put, we hope to pair students together so they can understand their aspirations for their future is possible!

The Office of Indigenous Initiatives at Nipissing University also offers Peer2Peer, a program on campus to connect Indigenous university students with one another in the Enji giigdoyang Student Lounge.

"I am pursuing my passion for visual arts through the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Nipissing. Although sometimes it’s hard to be far away from my hometown, I feel supported in my program and have found a good circle of friends who have similar interests. I’m looking forward to seeing where my passions take me."

Gerry, 4th-year student, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours)
