New computers to improve teaching and learning

Nipissing recently made significant improvements to teaching and learning related technology in 26 classrooms and two computer labs featuring 80 systems.

The new hardware, 21” Dell OptiPlex 5250 All-In-One Computers, will benefit students and professors with faster, more powerful and more reliable performance. The upgrade extended to furniture as well, meaning more comfortable, quieter chairs and better designed desks.

“One of our primary mandates is to provide students and faculty with the tools that they need to succeed. These tools need to be fast and reliable as well as affordable,” said Heather Hersemeyer, director of Technology Services.  “The new hardware performs much better and provides the ability for us to centrally monitor the systems in order to address any issues and update them with new security protocols and updated software to keep them operating at a high level.  This new degree of automation allows for improved efficiencies.”
