All Nipissing students are issued a Nipissing Google e-mail (GMail) account. These GMail accounts have default spam filters turned on and currently allow for more than 7GB of storage per account. You can access this account by logging into myNipissing and clicking on the E-mail tab.

Then under the Student Google E-mail heading, go to Launch Google Mail.

If you have never accessed this account before, University Technology Services has provided Logging into Google Mail for the First Time.
We ask that you check this account regularly and use it to communicate with the university. All messages from the Centre for Flexible Teaching and Learning will be sent to this account.
As well, the Blackboard E-mail tool connects directly to your Nipissing GMail account. You will need to log into this account in order to collect and respond to messages sent to you from within your course. If you suspect that Blackboard is not sending you messages, please refer to Troubleshooting.
Sorting the GMail Inbox
Messages sent from a Blackboard course will always appear with the course's code appended to the start of the subject line. However, you may wish to organize these messages as you would in a local mail client. GMail doesn't use folders for this; rather it allows you to create labels that you can apply manually to messages or apply to messages as they arrive using a custom filter.
Directions on how to do this are posted on the following GMail help page.
