Blackboard Credentials
As of Spring 2010, please use your myNipissing credentials (user ID and password) to access Blackboard courses.
myNipissing Credentials for New Students
Your myNipissing user name is provided in the Registration Confirmation letter you should have received from the Registrar's Office. If you have misplaced this letter and cannot remember your user name, you can go to the myNipissing home page and select What's my User ID? in the Sign In area.

Your myNipissing password is initially set up to be your birthday in the format Mmmddyyyy. Thus, if your birthday is January 9th, 1984, your password would be Jan091984. If you change your password, the password is case sensitive. This means that "Secret" and "secret" are different passwords, and typing in one when you mean the other will not work.

myNipissing Credentials for Returning Students
If you are a returning student and you used WebAdvisor in the past, the user ID and password that you used with WebAdvisor ARE your myNipissing credentials. Therefore, if you registered for your course online via WebAdvisor (which is part of myNipissing), the credentials that you used to sign up for your course will also get you into Blackboard.
If you realize that you cannot remember your myNipissing user ID/password, there are links on the myNipissing home page that can help you determine that (see image above).

To Log In
- Go to: http://blackboard.nipissingu.ca.
- Click Log In. There is an alternate link in the top right corner. Please take note of the direction to bookmark this page.
NOTE: This is also a good time to check your browser to determine if your browser's settings are appropriate.
- The page below appears. Again, please note the direction the bookmark the previous entry page and not this page. When students log in, the application performs a security check to ensure that each user has come directly from the entry page.
** If you know your course has started and you have attempted and failed to log in, please contact the Registrar's Office. **

The MyBlackboard page opens. Click on the linked course code to enter the course itself.
On the right of your MyBlackboard page, you have access to a variety of links that let you customize how your Blackboard Course List page displays (Channels, Color and Layout). The small envelope icon opens your mail tool. The icon beside it opens the course's Calendar tool.
