The Nipissing University Neuroscience Research Unit was established in the mid 1980s. Since that time, it has developed a proven reputation for training undergraduates in neuroscience research methods. Many of our students have gone on to highly productive careers in neuroscience. The general research focus of the lab is neural/behavioural plasticity. We have experience in most aspects of neuroscience research with primary skills in behavioural testing, rodent neurosurgery, pharmacology and histological techniques including immunohistochemistry. The laboratory is equipped with the appropriate instruments and appliances to carry out neuroscience research. We also have a full time technician who is dedicated to the Neuroscience Research Unit. The Director of the Unit is Dr. M. J. Saari.
