Admission Requirements NSEADP

Graduates of the Native Special Education Assistant Diploma Program (NSEADP) will be qualified to work with special needs children and with children experiencing behavioral problems.

The NSEADP will qualify you for admission to the Aboriginal Teacher Certification Program, allowing you to continue your studies to become a Teacher, making it a unique educational experience.

Qualifications:

To be eligible for this program, you must meet all the following qualifications:

  1. Completion of Ontario Grade 12; if you do not have your Grade 12, you may apply to write an equivalency test. To get information about writing the test, contact the Office of the Registrar.
  1. You must be Aboriginal.
  1. You must have a letter of recommendation from an Aboriginal organization. It is recommended that you have experience working with children.
  1. A recent criminal record check.

The Program consists of two different components, summer courses and practical classroom experience. The NSEADP consists of three parts; one part to be completed each summer. Each part lasts four weeks and consists of courses that will guide you to becoming a qualified Special Education Assistant.
