Nipissing's Culture and the Arts degree program is broad in scope and offers an interdisciplinary approach to the study of thought, ideas, culture and society. Students are encouraged to deepen their understanding of the social, political and cultural conditions in which thought and expression take shape.
Students of the Culture and the Arts program can take advantage of a wide range of flexibility within their studies. Courses are drawn from a variety of disciplines, and the extent of elective options (36 credits) allows students to "branch out" into additional areas of study at Nipissing University.
Graduates of the Culture and the Arts program pursue careers in a wide range of fields. They are critical thinkers and have a solid understanding of various forms of social and cultural expression. This degree is particularly applicable to careers which require a good understanding of social, political and cultural realities. It is a strong foundation for careers in journalism, education, the civil service (notably external affairs or foreign service) and in business areas that require a knowledge of and sensitivity towards different social, political and cultural realities.
