In September 2008, the Muskoka Campus in Bracebridge opened its doors to a brand new, technologically advanced, 26,000 square foot academic building. The campus is located in Jubilee Park within close walking distance to all amenities and the main street shops, and restaurants. This safe and friendly location is a short two hour drive from Toronto, North Bay, Sudbury and Grey-Bruce and within an hour of Barrie, Orillia and the Parry Sound area.
Our goal is to provide a high quality, personalized learning experience – one student at a time – and it’s a journey made within an unparalleled sense of community. The campus offers students the opportunity to study full time or part-time towards a Bachelor of Arts degree in three different majors; an Honours degree in Child and Family Studies, a General degree in Culture and the Arts or a General Liberal Arts degree.
The success and satisfaction of our students is no doubt, in part, due to individualized attention, faculty to student interaction ratio and our emphasis on services for students. Classes are taught in small, personalized settings that always inspire lively debate. As for all Nipissing University students the campus also provides access to special support programs, including Library Services, Career Counseling, Job Search workshops, Academic Skills Programs, Peer Tutoring resources and individualized assistance for special needs students. In addition, Muskoka Campus applicants are eligible for Nipissing University entrance scholarships and bursaries.
The Muskoka Campus maintains a complete list of a wide range off-campus housing opportunities for students. These range from individual apartments, shared houses or room and board opportunities. At the present time the Muskoka Campus does not have residence facilities.
Students at the Muskoka Campus are members of the Nipissing University Student Union. Membership provides them with access to health care benefits, a locally elected union representative and a variety of social and recreational opportunities. As well, the Muskoka campus has a partnership with the town of Bracebridge to provide membership at the newly built Sportsplex, which contains a pool, weight room and fitness classes.
