Nipissing University student Holly Garnett has been selected to receive a prestigious Killam Fellowship award to study at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
Garnett, who is entering her third year at Nipissing with a double major in Political Science and History with a minor in French, will spend the winter semester at Cornell. Involved in the local political scene, Garnett is looking forward to learning about the American political system, its relationship with the Canadian system, and about youth participation in American politics.
“I’m really excited to have this wonderful opportunity,” said Garnett. “Cornell is a very prestigious university with a large political science program and a gorgeous campus.”
