Dr. Jarvis teaches courses in the pre-service, in-service, and graduate education programs. His research interests include technology, integrated curricula, teacher professional learning, and educational leadership.
For the 2009-10 academic year, Dan will be instructing Mathematics, Grades 7 & 8 (EDUC 1785) in the AQ program; Mathematics Education (Primary/Junior) (EDUC 4274) in the BEd program; and, Models of Teaching (EDUC 5136) and Curriculum Issues (EDUC 5246) in the MEd program. In terms of research, he will be involved with the development of an on-line, Intermediate Division mathematics teacher resource; and will continue to lead a SSHRC International Opportunity Fund Project Grant study focusing on Computer Algebra System (CAS) usage at the post-secondary level (see related CCADGME conference hosted in 2007).
Dan is a member of the Nipissing University Mathematics Education, Research, and Information Centre (NUMERIC), the M.Ed. Committee (School of Graduate Studies), the Nipissing University Senate, the Canadian Society for Education through Art (CSEA-SCÉA), and the GeoGebra Institute of Canada (GIC-IGC).
