Teachers encounter many challenges when trying to apply educational technology (software & hardware) within the context of their duties as a classroom educator. Often you are your own "technical support centre." You will find it to be avaluable resource to tap into your colleagues as "helpers" (e.g., they may know of a solution to your challenge). Developing a 'Professional Learning Community' (PLC) within your network of teaching colleagues is a very valuable asset.

Hence, the Teachers Helping Teachers Podcast is intended to develop this PLC concept within the pre-service teacher candidates at Nipissing University. Plus, provide opportunities for interested teacher candidates to gain experience in presenting with technology.

Have some fun...explore a topic that would be relevant to the ed-tech teacher community...conference with Prof. Ken for some advice & guidance...produce a short presentation (10 to 15 minutes)...share it with your section mates during one of your ed-tech classes.

Completing a Class Presentation is an option. You may substitute this task in place of the Website / ePortfolio task.

Components:
- Select a topic which is relevant to the ed-tech & teaching environment (have it approved by Prof. Ken)
- Word process a brief and succinct instructional handout; save in PDF format; e-mail to Prof. Ken in advance of your class (minimum of one day) so it may be included on the USB Memory Sticks.
- Present material in class (10 to 15 minutes as a guideline)
- Your material will be transformed into a Podcast format (e.g., audio & visual content) and posted on-line for your colleagues to access --- it's like getting published electronically
- self-assess your learning experience and performance for evaluation
