Desk Copies

Professors should initiate a request to the publisher for an instructor's copy of the course text. If the publisher fails to provide the text, professors may purchase the text through the Campus Bookstore. All such purchases will be charged to the course's instructional supplies account.

Orders

All textbook selections should be initiated by the professor and orders should be processed through the respective Dean. It is necessary that orders be well planned and not excessive in number. Deadline dates for ordering books are as follows:
  • Spring Session - February 28th
  • Summer Session - May 1st
  • Fall Session - May 18th
  • Winter Session – October 15th
Books ordered after the above dates cannot be guaranteed to be on hand at the beginning of the respective sessions.
A form is available for textbook requests. Copies may be picked up from the bookstore or the Dean. The form must be completely filled out before it will be processed.
Some publishers will not allow returns of more than five percent of the total purchase and accordingly, book orders should be well planned and as accurate as possible. The Dean will specify the quantity to be ordered. Whenever possible, select a Canadian textbook. US books cost the students considerably more in Canada. Customs, duty and freight must be added to the cost of the book.
