External Funding


There are many organizations and companies that provide funding for students, regardless of the university they are attending.  The following links will take you to sites that offer information on scholarship and bursary programs beyond those offered by Nipissing University.  Some of these sites also provide valuable tools in planning for a post-secondary education.

 

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 23 provides a Veterans' Memorial Bursary valued at $500 to two students in their second year of study at Nipissing University on the basis of financial need and good academic standing.  Preference is given to students who are war veterans or their dependants or who are ordinary or associate members of Branch 23 (or a dependant).  Applications and more detailed information are available in the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office.  Deadline to apply is October 15.

Datatel Scholarships

Because Nipissing University is a client of Datatel, our students qualify for the Datatel scholarship program.  Visit the Datatel site for more information, including an application.


Mensa Canada 

Mensa Canada Society has scholarship funds available to both graduate and undergraduate students in all faculties.


Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada

AUCC administers more than 150 scholaship programs on behalf of a number of organizations and companies.  A listing of these awards may be found here.


Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council

Toyota Earth Day Scholarship

Toyota Canada Inc. and Earth Day Canada established the Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program to help cultivate and nurture environmental leadership. The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program encourages and rewards graduating Canadian high school students who have distinguished themselves through environmental community service, extracurricular and volunteer activities, and academic excellence.  20 awards of $5000 each are granted annually, to be applied directly towards tuition, books, room and board (where applicable) or other educational expenses for the first year of post-secondary full-time studies in Canada.


ETFO Scholarships and Bursaries

The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario provides a number of scholarships, bursaries and awards to qualified students.  Applications may be found on and downloaded from this website. The deadline for the majority of awards is April 30.


Students can register to search through an extensive database of awards for students with a disability.
