Job Search Advice

Below is information about starting your job search.  The most effective way of searching for a job is a targeted approach; wherein you identified the organization to which you would like to apply for, research what it is and does and who is responsible for hiring, in order to arrange an informational interview before you apply.

For general searches the approach is more immediate.  As you find a job posting you usually want to submit your application as soon as possible.  Therefore having a functional career portfolio is a necessity.  To begin your search the internet is probably the easy and most effective (immediate) method for searching.  Listed below are some of the currently recommended websites.  In conjunction with the web search you would want to also look through the print publications listed below.

A general search is effective to find an immediate position and to help you get a sense of what is out there.  The best approach for a career position is still targeting and approaching companies before you apply.
