Orientation Weekend: Welcome to the wonderful world of residence! Throughout this jam-packed weekend you will have the opportunity to meet new neighbours, suite/house mates and the residence staff. Together, we will help you get oriented with the campus and your new living arrangements.
Relay for Life: Relay for Life began at the Nipissing University residences in 2006 and quickly became an annual event. The fun-filled night is a complete with pizza, coffee (lots and lots of coffee), a DJ, fun and games – but the most rewarding part is that Nipissing University students come together to increase awareness and raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. In 2007, students raised over $14,000.
12 Days of Giving: The 12 Days of Giving is our Residence Food Drive. For twelve days throughout the months of November and December there is specific food that can be donated on specific days. On the first day, we'll ask you to donate one item to the Food Bank, on the second day we'll ask you for two items. This continues for twelve days and eventually we'll ask for twelve items. This event has been extremely successful in previous years and has made a major contribution to the Student Food Bank on campus.
Festive Feast: Everyone is invited for dinner! The Festive Feast is our annual Inter Residence holiday dinner. You will not leave this event disappointed. Free food, great friends and lots of entertainment!
Winter Carnival: Snow Angels and Hot Chocolate! What could be more fun !? Each year in second semester the Residents' Council hosts the annual Winter Carnival. Even if you don't like winter or the cold, we can guarantee there will be an event that you will enjoy!
Residence Formal: A night out on the town! Our Residence Formal is an off campus event that provides our students with dinner and dancing.
Bath Tub Project: Much like the 12 Days of Giving, the Bath Tub Project asks students, staff and faculty to donate certain items on certain days. However, we are not looking for food, but instead bathroom items. The donations collected provide men, women, and children that live in local shelters with much needed personal and hygienic items.
Year End Banquet: Much like out Festive Feast, the Year End Banquet provides residents with great food and entertainment. Following dinner, students will have the opportunity to view the Residence Slide Show and take part in the Residence Award Show!
