Concurrent Education for ECE Graduates

Bachelor of Arts (BA) – Child and Family Studies with Bachelor of Education (BEd) Primary/Junior

The only Concurrent Education program in Ontario exclusive to ECE graduates!

Offered at Nipissing’s Muskoka Campus in Bracebridge, Ontario

The Concurrent Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education - Child and Family Studies program is a full-time four year program offered exclusively at Nipissing University’s Muskoka Campus. Benefits of the program include:

  • Practice teaching placements in years 2 – 4 in a variety of school boards across Ontario (Public and Separate) and internationally
  • Access to Additional Qualification (AQ) courses in the final year of the program (May/June).

Admission Criteria

  • Successful completion of a two year Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma from a recognized college with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B average).
  • Diploma must include two completed Communication/English courses with B averages.
  • Applicants to this program will be exempt from presenting the normal 4U Mathematics admission requirement1
  • Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission.
  • Limited enrollment. A maximum of 40 students will be admitted each year.

Qualified applicants not admitted to the Concurrent Education program will automatically be considered for the Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies) degree and Nipissing’s unique Orientation to Teaching (OTT) opportunity.

1Applicants admitted to the program who do not have a completed 4U Mathematics credit must successfully complete prior to taking MATH1070 in second year, one of the following: Nipissing’s MATH1911 or MATH1912 or a 4U level math offered by the Ministry of Education
