Successful candidate will be required to apply and demonstrate approval for NU Work funding to maintain this position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:          

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) provides services and supports to students with disabilities at Nipissing University.  The SAS Assistive Technology Student Assistant will assist the SAS team in ensuring students with disabilities have equal access to information and print based resources through the acquisition and transcription of alternate format materials.  As many students with disabilities rely on assistive technology to participate fully in their studies, the SAS Assistive Technology Student Assistant will also assist the SAS team in the creation and provision of assistive technology supports and training resources.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

The successful candidate will support the SAS team by assisting with:  

  • The production of alternate format materials;
  • The production of student training guides and resources for assistive technology;
  • The general maintenance of assistive technology;            
  • The collection and analysis of data used to evaluate services and supports delivered by Student Accessibility Services
  • Other duties as assigned 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to attend the Peer Educator Selection Carousel on Saturday, February 3, 2018
  • Must apply and be approved for the NUWORK Program.
  • Good Academic Stating (a minimum overall average of 65%).
  • Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Appropriate and professional behaviour at all times.
