HOURS OF WORK:                            UP TO 10 HOURS PER WEEK

Successful candidate may be required to apply and demonstrate approval for NU Work funding to maintain this position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Residence Admissions Student Assistant will assist with the development of marketing and communications materials for the Residence Life department.  The student assistant will assist with reading through professional standards, writing text for communications, re-writing current documents, assisting in decision making on methods of communication (website vs. paper vs. social media), developing social media accounts and beginning postings, developing posters for use within residence.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

The Residence Admissions Student Assistant will aide the Residence Life department by assisting with:

  • Clerical support to the residence admissions department including responding to inquiries via, email, telephone and social media
  • development, review and editing of promotional and informational materials issued on behalf of the department
  • research and development of marketing materials, addressing the needs and interests of a variety of student cohorts
  • Other duties as assigned

Prior to assuming the duties of the position, candidates must complete the following:

  • Online Student Employee Training modules
  • Completion and submission of all required paperwork

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to attend the Peer Educator Selection Carousel on Saturday, February 3, 2018
  • Familiarity with standard computer software and, organizational proficiency
  • Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of Nipissing University programs, initiatives, and services that promote student academic and personal success.
