JOB DESCRIPTION:

Off Campus Living (OCL) housed in the Office of Student Development and Services, is a program that seeks to offer students assistance in navigating living off campus. This student assistant will assist with maintaining an updated property listing, through communication with landlords and tenants and develop educational and informational resources, and strengthening community development with our off campus students.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

The Off Campus Living Student Assistant will assist with the following:    

  • Maintain and promote the Off Campus Living website
  • Process Off Campus Living applications and post on website and assist landlords with completing Off Campus Living applications
  • Strengthen student neighborhood-based communities and promote campus engagement
  • Work to enhance general safety awareness and education programs for off-campus students
  • Promote student support and service options available to all students
  • Utilize online resources and social media to promote Off Campus Living
  • Other duties as assigned

Prior to assuming the duties of the position, candidates must complete the following:

  • Online Student Employee Training modules
  • Completion and submission of all required paperwork

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to attend the Peer Educator Selection Carousel on Saturday, February 3, 2018
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills
  • Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
  • First-hand experience and knowledge of off campus student issues an asset
