Reporting to the Assistant Vice-President, Students, the Manager of Student Recruitment and Retention leads a team responsible for developing, planning and executing a student recruitment and retention program to advance the University’s strategic priorities. The Manager of Student Recruitment and Retention is responsible for leading Nipissing University’s student recruitment and retention efforts and managing the Student Recruitment and Retention Team, which acts as the University’s sales force.  This includes long-term planning, program development, provision and evaluation of services, budget and fiscal control, personnel matters, technical support services, utilization of physical resources, supervision of staff, and other management functions.  The incumbent will also be available to support timely responses to challenges, emergencies, and crises outside of regular business hours.
 
The Manager is responsible and accountable for growing undergraduate and graduate level enrolment and will develop and implement recruitment plans that encompass the complete recruitment cycle: from prospect identification through relationship building, application, conversion and enrolment. 
 
The Manager develops, implements and manages resources, including budgets and processes, to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the office and all recruitment and retention efforts.
 
The Manager will provide recruitment expertise, counsel and support to various functional areas of the university, as well as leadership through engagement with and membership on various internal and external committees.
 
The Manager has responsibility for the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic plans and policies for student recruitment and retention that elevate the University’s reputation, advance its brand image, and achieve identified, measurable results in a rapidly changing, competitive marketplace.
 
A University Degree, preferably in business, marketing or public relations, or another related field, is required. A Master’s degree is preferred as well as a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, recruitment, marketing or another related field, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
