RATE OF PAY:                                     $12.06 - $12.36/hour as determined by HR policy
HOURS OF WORK:                            UP TO 10 HOURS PER WEEK

Successful candidate will be required to apply and demonstrate approval for NU Work funding to maintain this position.



The International Initiatives Student Assistant will assist the Education Abroad Coordinator, to aide both the ISMP executive team and the WUSC committee in the coordination and promotion of events and activities. As well as assist with updating departmental policies and procedure documentation and education abroad resources. 


  • Assist with updating departmental policies and procedure
  • Assist with the collection of resources from our partnering institutions
  • Working with the WUSC committee to assist on campaigns and initiatives including the planning, recruitment and promotion
  • Working with ISMP to assist on programs and initiatives, which includes the planning, recruitment and promotion
  • Assist with clerical support for ISMP and WUSC
  • Assist with communication with mentors and mentees via Facebook group and email with departmental information
  • Assist in planning for international student orientation (January)
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must be able to attend the Peer Educator Selection Carousel on Saturday, February 3, 2018
  • Must apply and be approved for NUWORK Program
  • Strong organization, program planning and leadership skills
  • Be a student in good academic standing
  • Previous experience coordinating student activities and/or events
  • Previous experience as an International Student Mentor, exchange/study abroad student and/or experience working with international students considered an asset
