JOB DESCRIPTION:

The incumbent will assist the Education Abroad Coordinator in the preparing for the upcoming academic year. As such, the individual will help prepare international totes, linen kits and welcome packages for the incoming students and assist with International Student Orientation and the International Student Mentorship Program. Additionally, this position will help coordinate recruitment efforts for the WUSC local committee and plan semester events.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

The International Initiatives Student Assistant will assist with the following:

  • Connect with incoming international student communications relevant to the mentorship program
  • Assist in planning ISMP mentor & executive training
  • Assist with updating and creating marketing material for both incoming and outgoing exchange student
  • Assist with marketing plan and content development for International Initiatives social media account
  • Assist with updating and maintaining resources and information about exchange partners
  • Assist in planning for international student orientation and ISMP events
  • Assist with administrative tasks; applications, agendas, orientation booklets, student resources, etc.
  • Assist in welcoming international students to campus upon arrival
  • Wash, organize and inventory storage unit materials
  • Create totes, linen kits and welcome packages for incoming students
  • Assist in delivery of the totes, linen kits and welcome packages prior to student arrival
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to attend the Peer Educator Selection Carousel on Saturday, February 3, 2018
  • Strong organization, program planning and leadership skills
  • Be a student in good academic standing
  • Previous experience coordinating student activities and/or events
