Editing Cell Contents
 1. Double click the cell where you want to change the contents
 2. Make your changes
 3. Press Enter to keep your changes or Esc to cancel your changes

Clearing the Contents, Formats, or Comments from Cells
 1. Select the cell(s), row(s), or column(s) that you want to clear
 2. On the main menu click on Edit
 3. On the Edit menu move your cursor over Clear and then click on All, Contents, Formats, or Comments
Rotating Cell Text
 1. Select the cell(s) in which you want the text rotated
 2. On the main menu click on Format
 3. Click on Cells and then click on the Alignment tab
 4. In the Orientation box you can either enter a degree point or drag the indicator to the desired angle
 5. If you want to display the text vertically from top to bottom, click on the vertical Text box under Orientation
Applying Borders to Cells
 1. Select the cell(s) you wish to add borders to
 2. On the main menu click on Format
 3. Click on Cells and then click on the Border tab
 4. Click on the button indicating the border placement
 5. In the Line box you can choose the style of border and the colour

Changing the Background Colour of Cells
 1. Select the cell(s) you wish to add a background colour to
 2. On the main menu click on Format
 3. Click on Cells and then click on the Patterns tab
 4. Choose the desired colour
 5. If you wish to add a pattern to the background, choose a pattern and colour from the Pattern combo box

Merging Cells to Span Several Rows or Columns
 1. Select the cells you wish to merge
 2. On the main menu click on Format
 3. Click on Cells and then click on the Alignment tab
 4. In the Text Control section, click on Merge Cells
 5. To change the text alignment, you can click on the Align Right, Centre, or Align Left buttons on the Formatting toolbar
 6. To merge the selected cells and centre the text at the same time, click on the Merge and Centre button on the Formatting toolbar
Creating a Chart
 1. Select the cells that contain the data you wish to place in a chart
 2. If you want the column or row headings to appear in the chart, include them in the selection
 3. On the Formatting toolbar click on the Chart Wizard
 4. Follow the directions given by the Chart Wizard
