Undergraduate Research Conference call for submissions

The fifth annual Nipissing University Undergraduate Research Conference is set for March 23-24, 2012.

This is a great event to celebrate learning, challenge our students and collaborate across faculties, departments and programs. Students gain valuable experience presenting and get a different perspective on research.

The conference has grown to include undergraduates from other Ontario universities as well as representation from every faculty on campus. The ability for undergraduates to participate in research and work alongside professors sets us apart from other universities. The conference is a way to spotlight the great work being done here.

As in past years, chairs, coordinators, and directors have been asked to nominate up to six students in their program areas to present their research as a paper and/or six students to present their research as a poster. Departments are in the best position to determine the merit of research projects.

You can choose to point students to our online submission tool and we will forward abstracts to each department chair. Or you can create your own process to determine participants and then upload the relevant information on your department’s participants to the conference website.

Please be aware that because this is a public page, and we will be promoting the event, you may get unsolicited submissions this way.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 17, 2012. We will give departments a few extra days to confirm their participants.  If relevant, please be sure to have Research Ethics Board approval.
