Comfortable and affordable residence accommodations are available from early May to mid-August each summer. Chancellors House, Governors House, Founders House and the Townhouse Residence Complex can accommodate approximately 1000 delegates, visitors and summer students.

Suite Style (Chancellors House, Founders House & Governors House)

Built in 2001, Chancellors House is a six-story, four-bedroom apartment-style residence. A new wing was added in 2003. Founders House, a five-story, four-bedroom apartment-style residence was built in 1997. Both residences are conveniently located within a three-minute drive, or a pleasant 10-minute nature walk to main campus. The North Bay City Centre and waterfront are just a 10-minute drive from both buildings.

Each residence complex offers:

  • Apartment style suites; each unit consists of four single bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, and common room
  • Each bedroom is furnished with a single bed, linens, desk, desk chair, telephone, closet, and chest of drawers
  • Each unit shares a full size kitchen with gas stove and full-size fridge. (Sorry, we do not supply utensils, dishes, or cooking equipment)
  • Each unit has two full bathrooms (one with shower and one with tub/shower)
  • Each unit has a common room, furnished with love seat, coffee table, and two lounge chairs
  • Common television lounges on most floors
  • Parking adjacent to the building
  • Each unit is air-conditioned
  • All buildings have common television lounges, vending machines, and coin-operated laundry facilities and assembly room
  • Guest services is located on the main floor at Chancellors House

A limited number of private suite accommodations for VIPs are available. These private apartment-style suites offer a private bedroom, bathroom, living room and kitchen facilities.

Townhouse Style

Our townhouse units are located on main campus and accommodate 6 people per house. The cottage-like atmosphere is a great way for delegates and travelers to relax and enjoy our natural setting without air-conditioning.

Each townhouse unit consists of:

  • Six single bedrooms (three bedrooms on the main level and three upstairs), common room, 1.5 bathrooms, and kitchen
  • Two bathrooms (one with tub/shower and one half bath)
  • A common room, furnished with a love seat, coffee table, and two lounge chairs
  • Each bedroom is furnished with a single bed, linens, desk, desk chair, telephone, closet, and chest of drawers
  • The complex has a central common building housing a television lounge, vending machines, guest services, and coin-operated laundry facilities

Guests may pay individually or all lodging charges can be billed directly to a host organization. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard or money orders. If your delegates are having so much fun, we welcome them to extend their stay at the same special conference rate.

Monastery Hall

Nipissing University purchased the Precious Blood Monastery September 7, 2006. The Monastery is located at 165 Monastery Road, in close proximity to Nipissing’s North Bay campus. It is located between our main campus and two of our largest residences. The pathway and Monastery Drive are used extensively by Nipissing students for walking and biking.


Conference Services has three Suites located at Monastery Hall that are available all year round. Each suite is equipped with a private bath, flat panel TV and a separate office area with Internet access.
