For Applicants:

Advanced Standing
Students may be able to obtain transfer credit / advanced standing for previously obtained post-secondary education, reducing tuition costs and time required to complete a degree.  Transfer credit / advanced standing is considered on a case by case basis and considers both the students previous studies as well as the program being applied to.  Following is what is currently considered for transfer credit / advanced standing purposes:
  • up to a maximum of 18 credits from a two-year college diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • up to a maximum of 24 credits from a three-year college diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • approved courses from other university degree programs with a minimum "C" grade in each course
Students applying to a Bachelor of Commerce degree program may also have the following considered:
  • up to a maximum of 39 credits from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) and the Institute of Canadian Bankers (ICB) combined
  • up to a maximum of 45 credits from a three-year Business Administration college diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.2

A list of courses currently considered from the CSI / ICB by Nipissing University can be found at the link below.
