Student Technology Assistants

WANTED: 

  • students interested in helping others
  • students with a genuine interest in learning about new educational technology resources
  • students wanting to make a difference and a contribution to the Schulich School of Education’s iTeach Laptop Learning Program
  • students wanting to earn some $$$

If you feel that you fit the above characteristics, perhaps you may be interested in applying to become an Student Technology Assistant (STA).

The Schulich School of Education in partnership with the Centre for Flexible Teaching and Learning (CFTL) are excited to inform you that STAs will be hired for the 2012-2013 academic year.

STAs are student employees of the CFTL specifically focused on assisting with the support services within the iTeach Laptop Learning Program.  Individuals in these positions will offer technological peer assistance throughout the Bachelor of Education program.  Please note that applicants do not need to be technological wizards - rather, applicants with strong interpersonal abilities (people skills) and a willingness to learn are ideal.

Benefits of becoming an STA include:
  • hourly wage of $10.66 (average of 3 to 5 hours per week)
  • opportunity to learn new technologies (SMART Board, Promethean Activboard, Mimio Teach and Wii-Mote interactive whiteboard technology, etc.)
  • appreciation of fellow students
  • appreciation of Schulich School of Education faculty and administration
