Social Service Worker Diploma

Degree completion for Bachelor of Social Work

Applicants who have successfully completed a two year Social Service Worker (SSW), Developmental Service Worker (DSW) or Child and Youth Care (CYC) diploma program at an Ontario CAAT with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above can be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program with advanced standing to a maximum of 30 credits.

During Year 2 of the Bachelor of Social Work program, students must apply for admission consideration to the professional years (Years 3 & 4) of the program. Admission to the first or second year of the Bachelor of Social Work program does not guarantee acceptance into the professional years.

Degree completion for Bachelor of Arts (Honours Specialization or Specialization in Social Welfare and Social Development)

Applicants who have successfully completed a two year Social Service Worker (SSW) diploma program at an Ontario CAAT with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above can be considered for admission to an Honours Specialization or Specialization in Social Welfare and Social Development with advanced standing as follows:

  • 3.0 GPA – 30 credits
  • 3.5 GPA – 36 credits
  • 3.7 GPA – 45 credits
  • 4.0 GPA – 60 credits

Developmental Service Worker Diploma

Degree completion for Bachelor of Social Work

Applicants who have successfully completed a two year Social Service Worker (SSW), Developmental Service Worker (DSW) or Child and Youth Care (CYC) diploma program at an Ontario CAAT with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above can be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program with advanced standing to a maximum of 30 credits.

Child and Youth Care Diploma

Applicants who have successfully completed a two year Social Service Worker (SSW), Developmental Service Worker (DSW) or Child and Youth Care (CYC) diploma program at an Ontario CAAT with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above can be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program with advanced standing to a maximum of 30 credits.

Degree completion for Bachelor of Arts (Child and Family Studies)

Applicants who have successfully completed a three year Child and Youth Care diploma program at an Ontario CAAT with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above can be considerd for admission to a four-year Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies with advanced standing to a maximum of 60 credits.

Applicants who have successfully completed a three year Child and Youth Care diploma program at an Ontario CAAT with a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above can be considerd for admission to a three-year Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies with advanced standing to a maximum of 45 credits.
