North Bay Campus

Customize your learning experience in our Applied and Professional Studies, Arts and Science, and Education degree programs.

Muskoka Campus

Located within driving distance of Orillia and Barrie, programs include Child and Family Studies, Culture and the Arts, Liberal Arts and teaching options.

Brantford Campus

Earn a BA (Honours) in Contemporary Studies from Laurier and a BEd from Nipissing as well as practice teach in the Public or Catholic schools near Brantford.

Master of Science Mathematics

Applicants must hold an Honours BSc normally in Mathematics or in a combined honours program with a Mathematics major and at least a 75% average on the last ten full (20 semester) courses completed at the time of application, or equivalent qualifications to be considered for admission.
All applicants are required to provide at least two letters of academic recommendation from professors or other appropriate professionals who can speak to their level of preparation and readiness for graduate studies. Reference cannot be from anyone who is personally related to the applicant.

All applicants are required to provide a resumé. Applicants are also be required to write a statement about their research interests and desired area of research.
Applicants may also be asked to submit supplemental information, such as English language proficiency scores as appropriate.

  • Application form
  • Three references (Academic or Professional, preferably two academic), completed on the included forms, mailed with the application form in sealed envelopes with the referee’s signature over the seal. Please note that references cannot be related to the applicant.
  • Undergraduate transcripts from all institutions attended, included those attended on a letter of permission or exchange program. Transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to Nipissing University
  • Statement of Interest Form
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency for foreign applicants whose undergraduate degree was not taken in the English language
 
English Language Test Requirements:
  • TOEFL - minimum score of 550 in paper based, 213 on computer based, 80 on iBT
  • IELTS - minimum score of 6
  • MELAB - minimum score of 85
  • PEARSON - minimum score of 67, with minimum of 60 on listening, speaking, reading and writing
