The Student Success Coordinator’s primary goal is to advise new and returning Aboriginal students by enhancing their educational experience through a holistic approach to support.


The Student Success Coordinator works to guide Aboriginal students by helping them to recognize their strengths, identify their needs and seek the necessary supports to ensure success while pursuing their chosen path at Nipissing University.


Aboriginal Student Success aims to provide equal access to postsecondary education for Aboriginal students through recruitment initiatives, transition planning and retention strategies. 


Student Success Programming includes:

  • ​Transitional programing
  • Academic and personal support and counselling
  • Elder-in-Residence, individual and group sessions
  • Financial advice and referrals,
  • Tutoring Support, by drop in or appointment
  • Academic and Cultural Workshops
  • Peer Mentorship
