Introduction

The First Canadian Computer Algebra and Dynamic Geometry Systems in Mathematics Education conference is funded in part through an International Opportunities Fund Development Grant awarded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) for 2007-08. This conference will be partially modelled after the CADGME conference which took place in Pécs, Hungary in June 2007. CCADGME has been organized by members of Nipissing University Mathematics Education, Research, and Information Council (NUMERIC) and is proudly supported by the administration of Nipissing University.

Computer algebra systems (CAS) and dynamic geometry software applications are becoming more prevalent in school and university mathematics curricula. This conference will seek to examine issues of teacher practice and related research at the elementary, secondary, and post-secondary levels. It will also facilitate the exploration of a variety of CAS-based and interactive geometry software applications.

We welcome you to beautiful North Bay, Ontario for the September 28-30th, 2007 CCADGME conference. We hope it will be an informative and interesting weekend of new learning and rich connections for all involved.
