International Practicum Information
There is new information regarding international placements and a revised process for applications. These revised procedures are consistent with procedures outlined by the Nipissing University International Office and the Faculty of Education of the main campus.
For the 2009-2010 school year, due to budget cuts, there will be only one official international practicum to Kenya for the Brantford campus from February 15 to March 5, 2010. There is a possibility of a practicum to Italy, subject to availability and interest, in April 2010. The China practicum has been cancelled for a number of reasons.
An information meeting on International Practicum Placements for ALL interested students will be held on September 18 from 1:00 pm-2:30 p.m presented by Dr. Ron Wideman, Associate Dean and Karen Strang, International Office at Nipissing University. This will be conducted on our campus in the lecture theatre at the Wellington Street building. It is important to attend this meeting since officials from the International Office will be present. If you are unable to attend this meeting, but are interested in an international experience, please email Deanne Osborne at deanneo@nipisisingu.ca by September 15, 2009.
Electronic applications for the international practicum to Kenya will need to be submitted by September 25, 2009. Procedures for applications and trip planning will be outlined at this meeting. Thank you.
