A completed protocol must include the following: 

  • One (1) electronic version of the complete Animal Utilization Protocol (AUP) with all attachments to animalcc@nipissingu.ca;
  • One (1) signed hard copy of the complete Animal Utilization Protocol form including all attachments, and other relevant information required by the ACC to make an informed decision on the protocol. 

In accordance with the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) and Nipissing University (NU), all research projects involving animals must be peer reviewed for scientific merit.  It is necessary for the Animal Care Committee to receive scientific merit peer review from two (2) independent experts.  Projects funded by major granting agencies (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR) are peer reviewed for scientific merit as part of the granting process. 

Submit a signed hardcopy as well as an electronic version of the AUP to:
