Nipissing University reserves the right to amend course offerings and course formats, and to limit enrolment and cancel courses.  All Correspondence courses are subject to limited enrolment and it is recommended that students register early. A searchable list of updated offerings is available on WebAdvisorBoth new and continuing students are encouraged to register on-line through WebAdvisor.

Absolutely no registrations will be accepted after the registration deadline.  We reserve the right to cancel courses with insufficient enrolment at the time of the registration deadline.  Full payment is required at the time of registration.  Deposits will not be accepted.  All outstanding documentation from previous sessions must be submitted before registrations will be accepted into subsequent courses.

No grades are released until after the published end date of the course.

COURSE WITHDRAWALS

All Course Withdrawals will be subject to a non-refundable cancellation fee.

Course withdrawals after the course begins $200 non-refundable cancellation fee

The withdrawal date is considered to be the date the student withdraws using WebAdvisor or the date the withdrawal letter is received in the Office of the Registrar.  If a credit remains on a student's account after all fees are paid, a refund cheque will be issued.  Refund cheques are generally processed 4 to 6 weeks after a student has withdrawn and are mailed to the permanent home address.

Students may receive a tuition refund (less the applicable cancellation fee) depending on the date the withdrawal is received.   Students who withdraw after the dates specified on the Important Dates schedule will not be eligible for a tuition refund.

Important Dates

EXTENSION REQUESTS

Please recognize that Additional qualification courses involve a significant workload and extensions will generally not be granted except in truly extenuating circumstances.

Course instructors are contracted to teach for a period of time specific to each course and will not be asked to instruct or mark past the closing

date of the course.  Prior to registering, please check the course closing date as this will indicate the date past which no further assignments will be accepted.

In the case of assignment extensions, these must be requested BEFORE the due date of the assignment or they will not be considered.

 PRACTICUM COMPONENT

Most courses include a practicum, action investigation or guided observation component.

COURSE READINGS

Correspondence courses are normally delivered using a print course package. Some courses may also be enhanced through the use of an on-line discussion forum. It is recommended that students have regular access to a computer and the Internet. Instructors will be available through phone, e-mail, and/or regular mail. Course packages are mailed after the final registration deadline and are sent by Express Post. Mailing is timed so that packages should arrive in time for the course start date (based on the Express Post delivery standard of 3 days).

A list of required textbooks is available.
