2012/2013 School Year: Police Background Check

Each year, teacher candidates are required to complete a Police Background Check (PBC) including Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS). It is important to note that the procedures WILL VARY depending on the Police Service Provider whose services you are soliciting, and therefore students are encouraged to investigate the policies and process time at their local station. This is to ensure that the issue date of your police check is not more than six months from the date of your first placement block.

Students Entering Year Two and Four of the Concurrent Program: Please begin the process by June 1, 2012 at the LATEST.  Police checks MUST be received by the Practice Teaching office by SEPTEMBER 17, 2012. Failure to provide a police check by this date, will result in the cancellation of placement for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Students Entering Year One, Three and Five of the Concurrent Program: Please begin the process by AUGUST 20, 2012. Police checks MUST be received by December 3, 2012. Failure to provide a police check by this date, will result in the cancellation of placement for teh 2012-2013 academic year.
