Required Police Background Check & Vulnerable Sector Screening

All incoming Bachelor of Education teacher candidates must obtain and provide to the Practice Teaching Office, a current Police Background Check (PBC), including Vulnerable Sector Screening, NO LATER THAN 4:00 p.m. ON AUGUST 10, 2012.  Failure to provide this documentation to the Practice Teaching Office by the deadline will result in your removal from the BEd program. Exceptions to the August 10th deadline will not be made for any reason.

Below are instructions for teacher candidates completing the required PBC.  Please note that the procedures WILL VARY depending on the police service provider whose services you are soliciting. Please read through the following information carefully to ensure that you clearly understand all requirements.
 
Students completing a Police Background Check:
Submission of PBC to Nipissing University:
Teacher candidates must mail their original PBC, along with a copy, to: Nipissing University, Schulich School of Education, 100 College Drive, North Bay ON P1B 8L7. Your original PBC will be returned to you during the week of August 27-31, 2012.
 
Students Assigned to the Peel D.S.B. - Submission of PBC:
Teacher candidates who have been assigned to the Peel D.S.B. are required to submit their Police Background Check in person to the school board office. Click here for more information.
