Monastery Hall, situated on 22 acres of scenic forest, is home to Nipissing Fine Arts studios and classrooms. In this location we have dedicated painting, printmaking and drawing studios, as well as a generous lecture space and semi-private studio spaces for our 4th year BFA studio students.
Natural light floods the drawing and painting studios, each equipped with sinks, easels, tables, storage and presentation space. The printmaking studio accommodates intaglio, relief, monotype, screen printing and lithographic processes, with individual storage space for student work. The common kitchen and lounge, along with extended building hours for Open Studio time fosters a spirit of community and camaraderie amongst both students and faculty.
"The location of the Monastery is our own personal oasis, surrounded by the wilderness. This was a great source of inspiration for my work, especially in my first year at Nipissing Univeristy" - Heather Lee (Graduate)
