SBE STUDENTS WORKING ON INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH PROJECTS

Beijing, China - BBA 2ND YEAR STUDENT: Don Lord
At Nipissing, students have the opportunity to work with award-winning faculty on research projects with international scope. For example, a SSHRC (Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada) funded research project investigating country, sponsor and Olympic images enabled a group of students to conduct street-intercept interviews in the United States. In addition, one student travelled to Beijing, China during the 2008 Olympic Games to assist with data collection in that country. These experiences provide students with an opportunity to acquire and practice research skills coupled with the exposure to different cultures and the excitement of learning about new places.

Argentina is one of six countries selected for the study.  Don and a second research assistant from another university were involved in conducting random street-intercept interviews with tourists in public areas.
