Main Campus or Lower Residences?

If you are trying to find our Main Campus, please follow the driving directions below.
If you are looking for our lower residences, please follow the driving directions below only as far as College Drive. Continue past (North) of College Drive and turn west into the driveway of either Founder's House or Chancellor's House.

Getting here by Car

Coming from Ottawa, Montreal and points East:

1. Once in Ottawa take Highway 17 westbound until you merge with Highway 11.
2. Travel on Highway 17/11 northbound through North Bay.
3. Continue westbound on Highway 17 after Highway 11 splits north at a traffic-light controlled intersection (a.k.a. Algonquin Avenue).
4. The next traffic-light west of Algonquin Avenue is at Gormanville Road.
5. Take Gormanville Road north by 300 metres until you reach College Drive on the west side.
6. Take College Drive west (heading up the hill) where you will find the main campus at the top, on the west side of the escarpment.

Coming from Sudbury, Winnipeg and points West:

1. Once in Sudbury take Highway 17 eastbound until you enter North Bay.
2. The first traffic-light you encounter on Highway 17 eastbound in North Bay is at Gormanville Road.
3. Take Gormanville Road north by 300 metres until you reach College Drive on the west side.
4. Take College Drive west (heading up the hill) where you will find the main campus at the top, on the west side of the escarpment.

Coming from Toronto, Detroit and points South:

1. Once in Toronto take Highway 400 northbound until it merges with Highway 11 through Barrie.
2. North of Barrie Highway 11 splits from Highway 400.
3. Travel on Highway 11 until you merge with Highway 17.
4. Travel on Highway 11/17 northbound through North Bay.
5. Continue westbound on Highway 17 after Highway 11 splits north at a traffic-light controlled intersection (a.k.a. Algonquin Avenue).
6. The next traffic-light west of Algonquin Avenue is at Gormanville Road.
7. Take Gormanville Road north by 300 metres until you reach College Drive on the west side.
8. Take College Drive west (heading up the hill) where you will find the main campus at the top, on the west side of the escarpment.

Coming from New Liskeard, Cochrane and points North:

1. Once in Cochrane take Highway 11 southbound until you enter North Bay.
2. The third traffic-light you encounter on Highway 11 southbound (a.k.a. Algonquin Avenue) in North Bay is at Highway 17.
3. Travel westbound on Highway 17. The turn onto Highway 17 westbound is through a dedicated merging lane prior to the traffic lights - do not proceed completely up to the traffic lights, as you will be unable to turn right (westbound) at the lights.
4. The first traffic-light west of Highway 11 southbound (a.k.a. Algonquin Avenue) is at Gormanville Road.
5. Take Gormanville Road north by 300 metres until you reach College Drive on the west side.
6. Take College Drive west (heading up the hill) where you will find the main campus at the top, on the west side of the escarpment.

Alternate Access Route to the University:

Coming from Ottawa, Montreal and points East:

1. Once in Ottawa take Highway 17 westbound until you merge with Highway 11.
2. Travel on Highway 17/11 northbound through North Bay.
3. Continue westbound on Highway 17 until you reach Highway 11 (Algonquin Avenue).
4. Turn right on Highway 11.
5. Follow Highway 11 north until you reach Cedar Heights (it will be at the top of a hill on your left-hand next to the gas station).
6. Turn left on Cedar Heights. Follow Cedar Heights until you reach College Drive.
7. Turn left on College Drive and on your right-hand side you will see the main campus.

Coming from Sudbury, Winnipeg and points West:

Coming from New Liskeard, Cochrane and points North:

1. Once in Cochrane take Highway 11 southbound until you reach Cedar Heights on your right-hand side.
2. Turn right on Cedar Heights. Follow Cedar Heights until you reach College Drive.
3. Turn left on College Drive and on your right-hand side you will see the main campus.

Getting here by Plane

Less than 10 minutes from Nipissing University, North Bay's Jack Garland Airport is a thoroughly modern facility with daily flights to Toronto and Ottawa.
Regular flights into and out-of Jack Garland Airport are provided by: Air Canada Jazz, Bearskin Airlines, and Voyageur Airways.

Getting here by Train

Less than 15 minutes from Nipissing University, North Bay's O.N.T.C. Train Station provides a clean and welcoming environment that is open 24 hour-a-day. There are daily trips to Toronto (in the South) and Cochrane (in the North) and all major points in-between. Regular trips into and out-of the station are provided by Ontario Northland.
