The Concurrent Education program at our Brantford Campus is offered in partnership with Laurier Brantford. Graduates receive an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Society, Culture & Environment from Laurier Brantford and a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing.
Nipissing University will provide almost $3 million to students in the form of academic-based and needs-based scholarships, awards and bursaries this academic year.
Nipissing will provide over 1,700 separate academic-based and needs-based scholarships, awards and bursaries to students.
In celebration of this, the university held the annual Student and Donor Awards Social on February 26. It is an event that brings together the donors who make the scholarships, awards and bursaries possible with the student recipients of these awards.
The social is an opportunity for students to offer thanks and learn the stories behind the motivation to give to Nipissing students. Whether it is to honour a loved one who had a deep connection to Nipissing or North Bay, a devotion to education, or giving back to the community by supporting students, each award has a unique and inspiring story.
Similarly, it provides a unique opportunity for the donors to learn about students, how they chose their area of study and found their place at Nipissing. How life has shaped them and what their goals for the future are.
“I know that I, like many others, am going to graduate next year with debt, but because of your help and the help of many others, I think that this debt will be manageable and not something that is going to determine the rest of my life,” said fourth-year concurrent education student Jenna Sweeney.
