Momentum helps keep academic success moving

Nipissing University's Student Development and Services is launching ‪#‎Momentum, a program that aims to ensure students’ academic and personal success during the Full-Time Academic Staff Bargaining Unit’s labour action.

Momentum will include a series of programs and initiatives that are recreational, social, and academic in nature. There will be workshops, seminars, open study and drop-in support times, as well as larger events offered.

Programming will be announced on social media platforms, as well as through a calendar of events sent to Nipissing University student e-mails.

“We have been working to develop a schedule that helps reduce the potential negative impact of a strike on students' engagement with their education and their experience at Nipissing,” said Sterling Webb-Crowe, manager of Student Learning and Transitions at Nipissing University. “We want to make sure students are getting opportunities to bolster their resume with different training opportunities, hone their academic skills, and maybe even meet other Lakers who share similar interests. “

While classes are suspended, the North Bay campus and Muskoka Residence Complex remain open.  The University recommends all students continue to work on and complete any assignments that are due during the strike.

Students check out the Student Development and Services Facebook page and the events calendar for information on how to receive academic and personal support.
