Dr. Charles Pascal is an international expert on early reading and literacy. He was special advisor on early learning to the provincial government. (Wed. @ 9:30 am)

Grand Chief Stan Beardy has been elected for a fourth term as Grand Chief of Nanishbi Aski Nation, the grouping of 49 First Nation communities within the territory of James Bay Treaty No. 9. and the Ontario portions of Treaty No. 5. (Wed. @ 2:00 pm)
 
Suzanne Brooks is a longtime proponent of reading and literacy, as proprietor of Gulliver’s bookstore in North Bay. She is the dynamo behind “Books by the Bay”, which each year brings authors to our area every July. She is a strong advocate of local writers. (Thurs. @ 9:30 am)
 
David Liddle has given over 20 years of service to Nipissing as Board member, Board Chair and Chancellor. He has been a strong ambassador and advocate for Nipissing. He was the co-chair of the Learning Library campaign. (Thurs. @ 2:00 pm)
 
Dr. Mark Tremblay is a Senior Research Scientist at Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Institute and a Full Professor in the department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Tremblay is a strong proponent of healthy living and will be an ideal speaker for the Physical and Health Education graduates at their inaugural convocation. (Friday @ 9:30 am)
 
Sister Priscilla Solomon has been a strong advocate for environmental and civil justice. She is an Aboriginal Catholic who has presented and facilitated workshops on human trafficking, poverty and interculturation. (Fri. @ 2:00 pm)

 

Dr. Keith Lickers, Doctor of Education (honoris causa), worked with Ministry of Education as the Manager of the Aboriginal Education Office; he established the Ontario First Nation, Metis and Inuit Education Policy Framework; member of the Author Team for the Grade 10 Native Studies textbook “Aboriginal Peoples in Canada” and an Advisor for the Grade 11 Native Studies textbook “Aboriginal Beliefs, Values, and Aspirations”
