Feed Mixed Media Contest

If so, enter the Common Book, Common Ground
mixed media contest today.

We will be accepting essay, video and artwork submissions based on M.T Anderson’s book Feed
until March 28th, 2013.

All submissions must be the work of an individual student and can be dropped off at
the dean’s office in room F208.

The top prize in each category is $100.00 followed
by two honourable mentions of $25.00 each.

WINNING ENTRANTS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL BY APRIL 5, 2013.

2013 Common Book, Common Ground Mixed Media Contest

Written Submissions

Short Essay: Write a short essay based on the following question:

Explain why M.T. Anderson’s “Feed” resonates with you. Please relate your answer to specific details in the book as much as possible.

Rules:

  • ALL submissions must be received by March 28, 2013 and should be submitted to the Room F208

  • Entries should be between 4-5 pages

  • Essay submissions should be the original work of an individual student

  • Entrants must include student's name, Nipissing e-mail address, student ID number and current phone number with their submission

  • By submitting your work for this contest you are explicitly agreeing to have your work distributed and shared within the university

Judges will look for:

  • Essays that use specific examples from “Feed” as supporting evidence

  • Content that illustrates the student's quality and originality of thought

  • Proper citation of supporting material (Use the page numbers from your book)

  • Strong writing style

  • Correct spelling, grammar, usage and punctuation

Video Submissions

Short Video: Create a short video how “Feed” resonates with you.

Please relate your answer to specific details in the book as much as possible.

Rules:

  • ALL submissions must be received by March 28, 2013 and should be submitted to room F208 on a USB flash drive/memory key with the student’s name on it.

  • Entries should be no longer than five minutes

  • No foul, inappropriate or graphic content/language.

  • Video submissions should be the original work of an individual student

  • Entrants must include student's name, Nipissing e-mail address, student ID number and current phone number with their submission

  • By submitting your work for this contest you are explicitly agreeing to have your work distributed and shared within the university

Judges will look for:

  • Videos that use specific examples from Feed as supporting evidence

  • Videos that illustrate the student's quality and originality of thought

  • Effective strategies for organization

Artwork Submissions

Poster or Painting: Create a poster or painting illustrating how “Feed” resonates with you. Please relate your answer to specific details in the book as much as possible.

Rules:

  • ALL submissions must be received by March 28, 2013 and should be submitted to room F208

  • Artwork submissions should be the original work of an individual student

  • Entrants must include student's name, Nipissing e-mail address, student ID number and current phone number with their submission

  • By submitting your work for this contest you are explicitly agreeing to have your work distributed and shared within the university

Judges will look for:

  • Artwork that uses specific examples from “Feed” as supporting evidence

  • Artwork that illustrates the student's quality and originality of thought
