Based in the History Department at Nipissing University, the CCOH (formerly the ICSOH) engages in community outreach to promote research and writing on the history of the Near North.

Our goals are:

• to collect historical documents and oral histories relating to the communities of the Near North area and make them available for research purposes
• to promote contact and the sharing of resources between historians working on the history of this area
• to encourage research and writing on local history by students of history at Nipissing University in as many courses as possible

We look forward to hearing from you if you are working on the history of the area, have documents you would like to donate, or have ideas for oral history or community history projects.
